About the Event
In the layers of legend that surround what we now call the Golden Days of Hollywood, one fact seems to remain solid and unquestionable. During that time, among the big four studios in Hollywood, Monolithic was the one to beat. Among the many dream peddlers and delusional hustlers who occupied all of the offices and sound stages of the entire town’s studios and acting schools, a certain begrudging respect was accorded to Mono, as it was called, and the name “Dream City” was coined. Due to Gene Marshall’s meteoric debut into the bright lights and widely publicized entrance into the gates and waiting arms of Monolithic, she and the other female stars of the studio became forever associated in the public’s mind with this period. The leading ladies of Monolithic became known to Hollywood and the world as ‘The Girls from Dream City’.
Always the innovators, Gene Marshall and her friends never shied away from new things. This year, each event at the convention is set around a particular theme or “genre” of theatrical performance that Gene and her friends were a part of back in the hay day of studio culture. From mind boggling stories that leave you in wonder to pure comedy, expect the unexpected!
About the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport Hotel

About the Convention Package Options
For the second year in a row, the Gene convention will be under the management of Mr. Alain Tremblay of Integrity Toys, who has worked closely together with Mel Odom to bring Gene collectors an event that will be fun and “outside the box”. This year again, the team’s goal is to improve and elevate the convention towards new heights of excellence by keeping the important convention traditions in place while also adding a few new and exciting elements.
The Base Package
Our entry level “traditional” registration package includes:
-Three full meal functions, including cocktail parties before each function and a complete sit down meal;
-A poolside costume ball under the stars of Orlando; and
-A plethora of exciting convention souvenirs that everyone expects from our event, including the exquisite annual Gene convention doll plus much more!

Other Convention Delights
Conventioneers will be sent an exquisite registration package in early summer 2008 containing the complete information about the convention with further details about the program, tours, workshops and everything we have in store for them! Don’t miss this chance to be a part of something extra special! A mini-convention collection will be offered for sale separately at a special reduced price. Purchase is 100% optional and is not part of the price of the actual convention package. Don’t worry, the basic convention package does include a doll and this mini-convention collection is separate from the convention package. There will be more details about this in the registration package.
